Featuring a couple of fearless adventurers, this design evokes the pulp feeling and aesthetic of the old sci-fi serials and novels that were popular from the 30s thru the 50s. It doesn't take long for one to see parallels between these two astronauts and characters from the likes of Flash Gordon, Captain Future, or Forbidden Planet. The sleek, simplistic design of the rocket. The orb-like helmet of the space suits. Even the ringed planet like Saturn in the background. This image is a love letter to that old, cheesy style of science-fiction.
